Welcome to Getting the Bible
There is no question that one of the most critical tools for a Follower of Jesus is the Bible – in it we find direction for life, the story of God and a clear picture of Jesus Christ and his mission in the world (otherwise known as the Gospel). However, there are probably fewer challenges in the Christian life than those that arise from understanding the Bible. Trying to understand, interpret and apply this ancient text (approximately 3,500 years old in some parts) presents a daunting task to many a believer. Yet it is a noble and essential endeavor for the one who follows Jesus.
Second Timothy 3:16-17 says, “All Scripture is breathed out by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be competent, equipped for every good work.” Needless to say, the Bible is something every one of us must “get”…in our hands, in our heads and in our hearts. That’s why we’ve designed this site, to help you “get” the Bible. Our hope is that these online resources and articles will increase your understanding and engagement of the Bible. So look around, dig in and let’s start getting the Bible together!

At that time the disciples came to Jesus, saying, "Who is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven?" And calling to him a child, he put him in the midst of them and said, "Truly, I say to you, unless you turn and become like children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. Whoever humbles himself like this child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven." (Matthew 18:1-4, ESV)
